![]() In this way the idea arose of opening to visitors the doors of this marvellous house, according to what zio Tonino used to do during his life. The first shy guided tours feel nearly unreal nowadays. I wasn’t able to answer the questions about my intentions, not even to myself. The idea came nearly by itself. Little by little, the will turned up that everything, works, pieces of furniture and furnishing should remain exactly the way he left them on that day, November 22,1996, when he passed away. From then on, visits became more and more frequent and interest and attention slowly grew about this house, exciting a journalist’s curiosity, so much to induce him to talk about it, for the first time, in an article, calling it “Collezione Forteleoni”. In this way, he unintentionally gave a name to my project. So, “Collezione Forteleoni” isn’t anything more than a house, maybe a very singular house, perhaps a Museum House too, but still a dwelling, where an artist with great wit and sensitivity, as “zio Tonino” certainly was, led his life, worked and created a lot of masterpieces. I wished people who visited this house to seize its very spirit, to smell the odours and feel the moods, spreading in its rooms, and many visitors perceive them from the very first moment. The only way not to misrepresent the feelings I want to convey during the tours was giving the chance to admire and study those works in the same place and position they had kept for years. Every time I lead one single visitor, a family of tourists or a whole school class, I try to convey my deep knowledge of “zio Tonino”, who has wished me to pick up the baton, handing down an art still unknown to most people. The purpose of this Collection is to make possible for such a talent not to be forgotten, by wasting a one-off collection, unique of its kind in the whole world. And of course to give the chance, to whoever wishes it, and always according to my time and job, to get to know it with an about-one-hour visit. |
